  • 20/07/14Fire at the school
On Friday 18 July, Firefighters were called to the school to tackle a blaze in the school kitchen after a drinks machine caught fire.  Thankfully no one was hurt and the fire was extinguished within an hour.  There is however, considerable damage to the school kitchen and to parts of the main hall.

On Monday 21 July, the vast majority of our students are on school trips.  These will still go ahead and students are advised to travel to school as normal.  For the minority of students not on school trips, parents are advised to keep their child at home as health and safety checks will need to be taken across the school site throughout the course of the day.

As a result of the fire, we have had to isolate the electrical supply that feeds our school IT servers.  This means that we are currently unable to access our management information system SIMS.  The IT Network team and external contractors are working to resolve this issue.  As a consequence of this, there will be a delay in posting the literacy and numeracy reports for students in Key Stage 3.   Apologies for the inconvenience this may cause.‚Äč
